As we bid farewell to 2024, get behind-the-scenes look at a year packed with meetups, events, and a community that’s as passionate about design as you are. Rewind and relive the moments that made this year one for the books!
A year of experimentation and reinvention
We pushed the boundaries and tried new initiatives with a series of events. Here’s a quick bite of what made this year so memorable:
- Happy Hours: Our very own version of virtual events designed for everyone. With these, we can assure all of you front row seats in your PJs and your favourite snacks.
- Collaborations: It wouldn’t have been possible without community partners: Women Techmakers, #IAmRemarkable, IxDA, ADPList; hosting our events: MIT-WPU, antiSOCIAL, Coditas, Pattern; and collaborations with Designland, UMO Design, Designare.
- CONFIG Watchparty: Our flagship event of the year is celebration of features and milestones. This year we turned Figma’s #CONfits into a cosplay event; impromptu participants included — checked shirt calling themselves ‘grid system’, monochrome color spread top calling themselves ‘gradient’, fully graphic sweatshirt calling themselves ‘illustrations’, a full black outfit calling themselves ‘dark mode’ (and not Batman! 😅). Turned the physical invite card into Figjam board for attendees to doodle and take notes.
- Wrapped (thanks Spotify): End of the year reflection and gratitude to the community by sharing what we’ve done in the year and behind-the-scenes glimpse of how we bring all of this into life.
We got CONFIG in APAC before GTA VI
Shivangi, Friends of Figma Pune lead, attended the APAC Config. Thanks to FoF Singapore and Figma for bringing FoF teams across APAC together and having the get-together. It was the highlight!
As Women Techmakers ambassador, she also attended Google I/O Connect.
We’re fig-tastically grateful for this growing community who came together, from newbies to pros, and built a space where everyone belongs together. Our community didn’t just grow — it thrived.
To every attendee, speaker, mentor, and volunteer — from inspiring events to meaningful conversations, YOU made this year unforgettable. Here’s to more pixels, people, and possibilities in 2025!
